Kororā in Māori means: (noun) little penguin or little blue penguin… Kororā are native and live in Kāpiti Coast, known as the world’s smallest penguin that grow to about 25cm tall and weigh about 1 kg. Kororā spend a lot of their time feeding at sea but come ashore to rest, nest and moult. Currently minded by Kāpiti Biodiversity Project and classed as at ‘At Risk – Declining’, while they help tell our story of the beautiful coastal lifestyle that Kāpiti provides we also can help tell theirs….
