Newmarket - Flying High
The development is well and truly above the motorway now – The Newmarket team are absolutely flying through the construction of each building. Building C only has 1 more floor to pour then we are onto the roof. Façade is going up very quickly – up to Level 3 now. Internal partitions are well advanced up to level 3, plasterboard has begun. Building B is not far behind C, with only 1 more slab pour remaining. Partitions have begun internally, with the façade up to level 2. Building A basements are all complete with steelwork progressing up to level 2. Podium outdoor space will start to take shape over the next few weeks. 3 out of 4 building consents are approved to date with the final building consent almost uplifted.
This Development has a Transitional Exemption Certificate (Overseas Buyers can purchase our residential units and live there!) There are now 23 Residential Units, 1 V.A Unit & 7 Storage Units available for sale!
Wellington's Feeling the Winter Wind
August in Wellington gave us a few reminders that Winter isn’t quite finished yet but Spring is here nonetheless and the Safari team have been pushing forward. Most of the roof structure is already completed and we’re spending the next couple of weeks getting ready for the roof cladding to be laid by end of September. Foundation works are well over halfway now and Level 1 perimeter is looking good, with the façade installation continuing around the building from the South, where the first sections have been installed.

Kawarau River & LQ - It's a Sign!
Wow , where did August go? The Project is flying along, with both buildings’ exteriors all but complete. a real highlight for the Safari Team was to have the first ever La Quinta sign’s in New Zealand , erected and tested for 2 weeks at night, so many great comments from so many people. Internally the building changes on a daily basis with all four floors of the Hotel now painted, Kitchens installed and carpets well underway. A busy site both inside and out as we rapidly approach our December completion.

Role at Safari Group
As the Development Coordinator I work across all of our current and future projects scheduling the finishes such as flooring and paint colours for the hotel and residential units. A large part of my job is the liaising, organising and ordering of all the furniture items for each development through our many supplier.
I also coordinate many of the admin tasks needed at the head office such as fleet vehicles, computer-ware and our in house social and education events.
What you love about what you do
I love how varied my work is, no day is ever the same! I especially enjoy the creative side of my role by getting involved with the different colours, finishes and design selections.
What you couldn’t live without
Insulin. Haha, is that too on the nose? A coffee in the morning, a wine on a Friday evening and the support of my husband.
Other Interesting Things you’re up to
I am currently completing a Diploma in Interior Design outside of work which has not only been incredibly fun, but is also providing a more informed knowledge of what I am currently doing in my role at Safari Group.
