Ways to dress up your apartment balcony
Balconies are the perfect place to explore your creative side. Whether your style is bohemian, classic, or light and bright, there’s a lot you can do to make your balcony a cosy and stylish haven.
Here are three ways to turn your balcony into an inviting and exciting space.
1. Use multi-purpose furniture
Using a balcony to its full potential requires a clever use of its space, and buying furniture that has many functions is the best way to go. Look for items that double as a storage space and something to sit on or dine at.
Choose coffee tables and ottomans or benches that have hidden storage compartments to keep cushions, candles, blankets, and other decorative pieces in, or use collapsible tables and chairs that can be put in the corner when you’re not using them.
2. Build a vertical garden
When you can’t build across, build up! Plants that grow high or hang from above are perfect additions to your balcony.
Get plants that are thin and grow vertically, such as ivy or vines; or use wall-mounted pots and pots that can hang from the balcony railing or ceiling for smaller plants like succulents or shade plants.
Balconies always look better with some greenery, and because vertical gardens are a bit out of the ordinary, it will catch the eye, become a talking point amongst your guests, and bring a vibrant and natural atmosphere to your home.
3. Create ambiance with lighting
Use ambient lights to create an enchanting and warm feeling. Hang fairy lights of different shapes, colours and sizes, or place candles or lanterns around the balcony to transform it into a tranquil escape.
Bask in the glow of the lights as you sit outside during the warm summer nights chatting with friends or stargazing.
A private balcony is such a nice amenity, and it’s a great opportunity to make even more of your apartment distinctly yours.
By using multi-purpose furniture, building a vertical garden and using lights to create ambiance, your balcony will be the go-to place to spend time in the fresh air and with friends or family.
